St Lucia Carnival
I went to St Lucia Carnival and had a blast. It has been years since I have played mas and it felt great to dance in the streets of Castries. We spent half of our stay at Cap Maison, a luxury boutique hotel in Cap Estate. When I say I love this place, I mean it. The hotel grounds were gorgeous overlooking the sea and the restaurants served up some of the best food I had in St Lucia. I was sad to leave for WindJammers. However, I was pleasantly surprised by WindJammers. I had written off the hotel as another cheesy Caribbean all-inclusive but it wasn't. The WindJammers staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, especially since we booked our hotel that night after a mishap at another resort.
Aside from jamming down the road, my friend and I spent most of our days lounging beachside (shoutout to the burnout corporate girlies). We took a day trip to the sulfur baths and Sugar Beach. I wish I could take the sulfur bathes with me, my skin looooveeed it. All in all St Lucia was a vibe and a great primer for Trinidad carnival.
